Emergency Food Centre Free Will Collection at Festive Brass 2010

In the spirit of giving this Christmas Season, Capital BrassWorks has once again invited the Centretown Emergency Food Centre (CEFC) to collect food and financial donations at their up-coming Festive Brass 2010 concert.

The CEFC provides a three-day emergency food hamper to Centretown residents in need once per month. The centre is staffed by volunteers directed by the Centretown Churches Social Action Committee.

We hope to see many of you at the concert this December and hope you will consider bringing a non-perishable food item with you!

From North to South America and Back

What a wonderful evening it was last Friday at Capital BrassWorks’ most recent concert, Tour of the Americas!

The audience was whisked away to various locations such as Uruguay, Costa Rica, Cuba, Brazil and the United States. There was a definite Latin feel in the air and it was nicely accented by their guests, Norte Tropical, the Latin Ensemble from the Crane School of Music.

There were many wonderful solos throughout the evening and the concert was concluded by a encore that featured both groups together.
